PARLIAMENTARY INTERVENTION IN FAVOUR OF CAMBODIA
On March 21, a group of 13 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from all political groups wrote about Cambodia to Lady Cathrine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and to Mr. Karel de Gucht, European Commissioner for Trade.
They raised several issues including the case of "Opposition leader MP Sam Rainsy, an active member of Liberal International, [who] has been denied the right to stand as a candidate for national election and forced into exile and cannot campaign in spite of his role."
