Pakistani police say militants have destroyed a
historic house associated with the country's founder, killing a guard in the
attack.
Authorities said the attackers planted several bombs Saturday to destroy the 19th century wooden residence in the mountain resort town of Ziarat in Baluchistan province, where Mohammad Ali Jinnah lived before his death in 1948, a year after he led Pakistan to independence.
Police said the attackers also shot a police guard to death in the pre-dawn attack.
Baluchistan is home to several Baluch nationalist groups, who demand greater rights and a share of gas and mineral revenues.
