CIVIL WILL PARTY OF MONGOLIA

31 January 2012
Hon. Sam Rainsy, MP
President, Sam Rainsy Party Leader of the Cambodian Opposition
Dear Rainsy:

On behalf of the Civil Will Party and personally, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) for its remarkable success in the senatorial elections held on 29 January. It is very inspiring to hear that the number of senators from the party increased dramatically – from 2 to 11. We are sure that the change of status of becoming the second largest party in Cambodia will bring you significant strength to become an effective opposition against the dominance of one party in the country.

Thinking the fact that organizing a fair election in Cambodia due to the dominance of the CPP is a challenge, we are very happy to hear that the SRP managed to overcome the challenge which brings hope and inspiration to your fellow parties in other countries.

We know throughout all these years you have been very patient and strong yet remained true to your perspectives and values that are equally shared by your fellow CALD members. Therefore, we have no doubt your victory is deeply celebrated by the entire CALD family. This battle you won ensures that the party would also do greatly in the upcoming elections and the overall democratization process of Cambodia.

The CWP also is waiting for the next parliamentary election in June with hope to perform better. We would like to note that your success is our inspiration to work harder for the expected better outcome.

With warm congratulations and wishes of good luck, we are concluding this letter with hope of you and your party would enjoy all the rights to promote democracy and build better future in Cambodia.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Oyun Sanjaasuren, MP       Mr. Gankhuu Gendendaram
Chair                                            Secretary General
