To All CNRP Members and Supporters
Following my discussion today with Vice-President Kem Sokha, we have agreed on the following:
1- Regarding our planned visit to North America, Kem Sokha – who has a very busy schedule with many public meetings and a heavy administrative work to do in Cambodia – may have to reconsider or to re-adjust his travelling plan. As for me I will continue my diplomatic effort on the international scene, which includes visits to New York, Washington and Ottawa. It will be also an opportunity to visit a number of Khmer communities in North America to mobilize our supporters just a few months before the elections. Visit itineraries are established by the CNRP Headquarters in Phnom Penh to ensure cooperation and coordination with all concerned parties in a smooth and gentle way.
2- Regarding the organization of the above visits from a practical point of view, Kem Sokha and I call on all available forces and any good will, namely old SRP and HRP members and supporters as well as new CNRP supporters, to handle those visits on the spot on a case by case basis. We count on the discipline of all volunteers. Many of them have already a lot of experience in organizing successful meetings.
3- Regarding the creation of CNRP chapters for such and such states and cities, formal and valid instructions will be issued by the Phnom Penh Headquarters after the holding of the CNRP Congress on April 7. Internal regulations will then be adopted, including those related to the creation and the functioning of official overseas chapters for the CNRP. By then, all our party leaders will have officially moved from SRP and HRP, to CNRP. But let me stress that our commitment and our effort don’t depend on the fulfilment of these formalities. Everyday we remember our cause and do our best to rescue our country. Please keep up the good work.
With my fraternal greetings,
Sam Rainsy
CNRP President
