Kem Sokha ‘followed’, CNRP says

The opposition will file a complaint to the Interior Ministry today calling for an investigation after deputy president Kem Sokha was allegedly stalked by a group of five men on motorbikes.
“We do not know whether it is the government’s threat or another group ... but we will inform Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng to take action and find out what the purposes of those people are,” Cambodia National Rescue Party spokesman Yem Ponharith said.
Ponharith said Sokha was followed throughout the day on Friday “wherever he went, and even when he stopped his car”, adding that they viewed it a “political threat”.
Ministry of Interior spokesman Khieu Sopheak said they would investigate if there was a complaint, but said claiming it might be the government was highly irresponsible.
“His message is to heat up the atmosphere, not to cool it down,” he said. “What advantage would there be if the government or ministry followed him?”
